Information About the League 2010 - 2011
Heart of Wisconsin Winter League begins on Wednesday, in December for three (3) weeks of individual qualifying. Fifty (50) target qualifying will consist of 25, 16-yard targets followed by 25, 23-yard handicap targets. After Qualification, the five member teams will be drawn at random from the five (5) individual categories, with the highest qualifying scores being the team captains. If you are going to participate and are unable to shoot qualifying, the committee will assign your category appropriately depending upon known ability and the weeks shot, if any. The teams will be drawn the week of December 25th. There will be no squad assignments for qualifying. Please sign up as you come in. The ten (10) week team league begins on Wednesday, in January and will end in March. Shooting begins at 6:30 p.m. There is a $10.00 entry fee per person, with an $8.00 weekly target fee. The fee for the three qualifying evenings is $8.00 per/night. This is a 50 target league - 25 16-yard targets followed by 25 handicap targets. Handicap yardage will be determined by teams 16 yard score divided by 5 and adding 2 yards. The first place team each week will be handicapped by team’s 16 yard score divided by 5 and adding 4 yards. Most other Wednesday night summer league rules will apply accordingly. The Heart will provide scorers for the 6:30 p.m. time slot. The 6:30 p.m. team must provide a scorer for the 7:00 p.m. squad following them – 7:00 p.m. scores for the 7:30 p.m. squad – 7:30 p.m. scores for the 8:00 p.m. squad.
In the event of the absence of a regular shooter, and there is no sub to shoot in his/her place, the score recorded for that shooter, for that night will be: the shooter’s average, less 5 targets. Note: Subs scores will not exceed the missing shooters average (determined by a minimum of 3 weeks scores.)
End of league party will be Wednesday in March. Trophies will be awarded to the first place team and individual trophies for High Gun and High Average. Your winter league committee members are: Bruce Rosenthal, Dan King, Greg Knorr and Wayne Vandeberg. Please feel free to contact them with any questions.
